HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

Hydrogen Peroxide is a chemical compound with formula H2O2. In its pure form, it is a very pale blue liquid that is slightly more viscous than water. It is used as an Oxidizer, Bleaching agent and antiseptic usually as a dilute solution on water for consumer use and in higher concentrations for industrial use.

APPLICATIONS/ USES
  1. Hydrogen Peroxide is one of the most favourite raw materials in the industry because it can easily liberate oxygen. It can dissolve in a wide range of organic solutes.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide is a non-specific killer of germs. It can react with oxygen and can kill all types of microbes.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide is a core bleaching agent in the mechanical pulping process. Its low molecular weight, low cost effectiveness and high bleaching properties make it the best source of bleaching paper industries have.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide is a mild antiseptic used on the skin to prevent infection of minor cuts, scrapes and burns. It may also be used as a mouth rinse to help remove mucus or to relieve minor mouth irritation. It works by releasing oxygen when it is applied to the affected area.

  1. Because of its excellent bleaching and disinfecting properties, it is widely used in the manufacturing of cosmetics as well as medicinal products. Many commercially produced dyes and hair colours use Hydrogen Peroxide as an ingredient for a complete natural look.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide has an antimicrobial properties due to which it is used in manufacturing tinctures and wound cleaners. It is a well known component of a first aid kit.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide not only can disinfect water from numerous bacteria and germs, but it also react with harmful minerals like copper, zinc and molybdenum present in water.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide is widely used in removing stains and paints from the raw material of your cloth.

SAFETY- Higher concentrations of Hydrogen Peroxide like food grade (35%) and industrial grade (90%) can be dangerous and even fatal. They can cause severe burns and rashes.

Ingesting food grade Hydrogen Peroxide with concentration 20% can cause internal burns, loss of consciousness and respiratory paralysis.
