(1) Acetic Acid is a chemical reagent for the production of chemical compounds.

(2) Very small amount of 4 % acetic acid diluted with water is used as vinegar in food industry. It is used directly as a condiment and in the pickling of vegetables and other foods.

(3) Acetic Acid is an effective antiseptic when used as a 1 % solution against streptococci, staphylococci, pseudomonas etc. It is also used to treat skin infections caused by pseudomonas strains resistant to typical antibiotics.

(4) Acetic Acid injection into a tumor can be used to treat cancer since the 1800s. It is also used as a part of cervical cancer screening in many areas in the developing world.
